These needles aim at retransfer of embryos into uterus and infundibulum. They are made from borosilicate glass capillaries.

These capillaries are pulled by a home-build pulling machine. This garuantees a high reproducibility of the inner diameters of the tip.

We offer two types of retransfer needles according to two ranges of their inner diameters:

  • Retransfer needles with TO 110 µm. In contrast to the literature, inner diameters below 108 µm are too small. This is an observation of many laboratories.
  • Retransfer needles with TO 120 µm. Some groups prefer to perform the retransfer with these slightly greater inner diameters, until now no disadvantages were reported.

The tips of the retransfer pipettes are firepolished. According to the intensities of the firepolishing we offer two types which we name weakly and strongly firepolished retransfer pipettes. The difference can be clearly seen on the images.

The lengths of the tips vary between 3.5 cm and 4.5 cm . In this case the tips of the retransfer needles are very flexible and do not break touching the bottom of the chambers during cell collection.

Because of the small OD of 1.8 mm of the BLAUBRAND capillaries it is advisable to use them with special holders.
